The Company

Origins

We are a British company, founded in 2002 by a team combining long expertise in biochemistry and instrumentation with substantial business acumen. The business was originally a spin-out from a leading instrumentation design and development company, Chelsea Technologies Group, and is now independent. We are based in Surrey, UK, on the edge of the London metropolitan area.

Our aim at the outset was to bring to world markets a system to help control diabetes, based on a unique fluorescent chemistry originally developed at London’s renowned St Bartholomew’s Hospital. We have the sole worldwide rights to this chemistry, which we have developed and perfected. We have designed, developed and are manufacturing a system, called Quo-Test, for use at the point of care – i.e. in the front line of medical care rather than in a central laboratory.

Now in use in many countries around the world, Quo-Test is setting new standards of diabetes care for professional clinicians. It is simpler to use and faster to operate than any alternative, while maintaining equivalence to laboratory test standards of precision and accuracy.
