The Quo-Test™

Quotient Diagnostics have developed a truly revolutionary HBA1c analyser which is simple, fast and reliable. It represents a new standard in A1c testing, combining advanced chemistry, innovative product design and state of the art instrumentation, optics and electronics. The Quo-Test is suitable for the laboratory and primary care environment. The Quo-Test uses a finger prick blood sample of only 4µl to provide proven laboratory quality results. The simple to perform test requires minimum human interaction and is automatically calibrated to ensure maximum precision and accuracy every time.

The system comprises of a desktop analyser and a disposable cartridge. In addition, there is a bar-code reader for scanning the test lot which only needs to be scanned once upon opening a new box of tests. Each cartridge is packed in a foil pouch, with a shelf life of up to 9 months at 2-8°C.

How it works
1) Perform a finger prick and collect just 4µl of blood
2) Place blood collector into the test cartridge
3) Simply place the test cartridge into the Quo-Test Analyser and close the door

Upon closing the door the assay automatically begins and takes just 3 ½ minutes to complete. Once finished test the HBA1c result appears on the digital screen and there is then the option to print out results for your patient notes.

Method
Quo-Test measures the change in fluorescence of a patented reagent when it reacts with glycated haemoglobin in a patient's blood sample. A second photometric measurement is then used to normalise haemoglobin concentration and sample volume. This technology, originally conceived at London's St. Bartholomew's Hospital, confers many operating, performance and manufacturing advantages unmatched by any alternative approach to A1c testing.
