David Evans - Chairman
David has constructed many venture capital deals and their subsequent monitoring. He was Finance Director and later MD of Shield Diagnostics and managed the complex merger of Shield Diagnostics with Axis Bio-chemicals of Norway to form Axis-Shield plc. He is on the boards of several Life Science companies. David took over as Chairman of Quotient in April 2008.
Dr Greg Davidson - Chief Executive
Greg joined Quotient in August 2007 to take the team and the product through to market launch. Greg has extensive experience in instrumentation and diagnostics projects: his career has included spells at Amersham International, Serono Diagnostics and Leica Microsystems, leaders in Life Science imaging.
Julian Baines - Non-executive Director
Julian is CEO of BBI (British Biocell International), Quotient’s largest shareholder. Cardiff-based BBI develops and produces a range of assays and reagents for diagnostics markets. Julian has considerable expertise in sales and quality assurance. He oversaw the growth of BBI and steered it to flotation on AIM in 2006, after which it was purchased in 2008 by the US healthcare group IMI Inc (Inverness Medical Innovations).
Véronique Castelo - Non-executive Director
Véronique represents one of our institutional investors, Nice-based Succès Europe. An entrepreneur from the age of 23, Véronique built two successful medical technology companies which were then sold on to world leaders in their respective sectors. She is well place to assist us with the specific aspects of the healthcare market.
David Chatterton MBE - Non-executive Director
David was formerly Chairman of Chelsea Instruments, one of the UK's leading medical diagnostic instrumentation companies. In 2002 he secured the license for the technology and formed Quotient to exploit its potential. He chaired Quotient until April 2008 when he handed over the reins to David Evans.
Simon Harris - Non-executive Director
Simon is responsible for raising finance and for building Quotient's public profile. He maintains close links with our body of over 50 investors, ranging from private business angels to international venture capital funds. As a management consultant he has helped to launch and built several successful healthcare businesses. His previous career was at the world’s most famous advertising agency, Saatchi & Saatchi.

Dr Tobias Volker - Director Sales & Marketing Director
Tobias was previously at Cholestech Corporation where he was responsible for a 50 strong distributor network selling the LDX point of care system for measuring cholesterol and lipid profiles. From 1998-2005 he held a similar position at Biosite Inc where he took their non-US sales from $2m to $27m. He has a PhD in Biochemistry from the Université de Bordeaux and an Executive MBA from INSEAD.
Dr Phillip Vessey - Technical Director
Phil gained his PhD in Spectroscopy at Imperial College London. He has 20 years experience of taking scientific instrumentation from concept, through development, production engineering, pre-production and then into manufacture. Before Quotient, he was Technical Director of Chelsea Instruments, responsible for development for companies such as Unilever, Amersham, Kodak, Unipath, Drew Scientific and Malvern Instruments.
Adrian Gray - Production Director
Adrian has held a series of senior management posts in the diagnostic industry. He was Operations Director of Provalis Plc, responsible for manufacturing, engineering, facility support and logistics. Previously, at Oxford GlycoSystems he was responsible for manufacture and QC of consumable products. Earlier he was Head of Production at Boots Celltech, where he was responsible for 15 immunoassay products.
David Percival - R & D Director
David has an MSc in Immunology and over 20 years experience in diagnostics. He joined Quotient after 10 years with Provalis where he was Research Director developing point of care diagnostics systems for diabetes and infectious diseases. Before that he was at Unipath developing the well-known ‘Clearblue’ pregnancy test device, and at the MoD’s Porton Down Research Centre doing research in the field of antibodies.
